Trading SAFEX

Trading on the South African Futures Exchange (SAFEX) is an exciting and effective way to manage price risk and market exposure in the South African agricultural markets. At Farmwise we have a highly skilled team of professionals that provide market-based solutions to all participants.

Spot trading

Spot trading is the primary market available to all participants in South Africa. This market encompasses a wide variety of feed grains and other specialty products. To ensure successful trading in this environment in-depth knowledge of the marketplace, the counter parties involved and the risks inherent to these activities are required.

Grain financing

Financing of grain already in-silo, provides our clients the financial flexibility to make considered marketing decisions. Cash flow constraints should not force a market participant into a marketing decision and Farmwise provides the wherewithal to ensure this.

Swops

Swops, involving physical inventory, enable different participants to maximise potential or minimise transport costs. This exciting facet of the market is possibly the most difficult and challenging part of the delivery process. Swops require acute knowledge of the cyclical supply and demand factors inherent in the market, as well as a mutual relationship of trust between participants. Our excellent relations in the industry provide precisely this.

Training

Regular workshops and in-house training, ensures that staff and clients remain on the cutting edge of all new developments in the marketplace.
